Call for action Health4all
1 March 2019
On April 7th, “European Network against the Commercialization and Privatization of Health and Social Protection” and “People’s Health Movement Europe” call for the fourth edition of the European Day of Action against Health Commercialization.
April 7th has been designed as International day of health by WHO, and is used globally to remember the importance of health for people’s and communities’ creative and happy lives. Following decades of strong attacks on public health systems and the right to health around the world, however, the European Network and PHM rebranded 7th April as the day against commodification of health: to remind ourselves that health for all can only be achieved through solidarity and collective action aimed against corporate and private interest.
This year, the day of action is taking place in wake of the campaign “One year to say no to the commodification of health. All for Health!” leading up to the European Parliament election in May. More information on the campaign can be found here
