Join us, between 12 and 21 November, for a 4-part webinar series organized jointly by PHM Europe, PHM Canada, CUPE and the European Health Network that explores the increasing commercialization and privatization of the long-term care industry in North America and Europe. Over 3 sessions, academics, activists and front line workers will discuss the impacts of this trend on our politics, the working conditions of these facilities and the lives of seniors living in these centres. The final session will be devoted to exploring these topics in greater depth through group discussions.

The European Network, the People’s Health Movement, and all signatory organizations call for unitary responses on the local, national, and international level to build a "Day After" that will break with the liberal recipes of the past. We propose to the social movement as a whole to set a date in September 2020 as the first international initiative for the expression of our demands.

Every year, the European Network organizes actions on 7 April, World Health Day. We call it the Day of Action against the Commercialization of Health. At the same time we also try to reach our European representatives with our analyses and demands. This year, we planned a conference in the European Parliament. But the COVID-19 crisis was one step ahead of us. On the occasion of the "white sheet" action on 7 April, which we organize as an alternative to our annual actions, we submitted a number of topical questions to Brando Benifei, italian MEP for the European socialists, who answered our questions willingly. He shines light on how the Socialists will position themselves within the European Parliament.

Every year, the European Network organizes actions on 7 April. 7 April is World Health Day. We call it the Day of Action against the Commercialization of Health. This year, we planned a conference in the European Parliament together with Petra De Sutter on the accessibility of health. But the CODIV-19 crisis was one step ahead of us. As an alternative on our annual actions we are organizing a white sheet action and submitted a number of questions to Petra De Sutter, who answered our questions very willingly. She gives us some working points for which the European Greens, in response to this sanitary crisis, will fight for within the European Parliament.

Today, more than ever, it is urgent to act. The COVID-19 outbreak shows us the importance of coordinated action. What we need now is a strong solidarity-based health system for all and coordination that surpasses national borders, with effective action on a European and a global level.

We have decided to cancel all physical gatherings and actions for this year’s 7 April.
But we call on everybody to show their support for our call to "spread solidarity, not the virus" with a "white sheet" action on 7 April

All actions with physical contact (gatherings in the streets, events with crowds...) have been cancelled. 7 April actions will be be organized through social media and the press. Show your support with the white sheet action!

The mission of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is the efficacy testing and the ongoing supervision of medicines for the benefit of citizen health in the European Union.

In spite of the clear relevance of an institution like the EMA, the rules governing its functioning and their compliance with health protection goals have never been given a priority in the political agenda, even by the left wing forces.

The Italian branch of the European Network propose several recommandations on how to improve this European agency which has a great impact on national health systems and the cost of medecines.
